Southwest Missouri State University offers the advantages of Missouri's second largest university (with 19, 000 students from nearly every state and 80 other countries; 150 undergraduate and 42 graduate programs; NCAA Division I athletics; and 300 student organizations) on a comfortable, compact campus located in Springfield, Missouri's third largest city. Among the other attributes that make SMSU unique are: our statewide missions in public affairs, our strong cooperative education program (one of the largest in the Midwest), and our nationally recognized residence halls. SMSU has experienced seven years of growth, despite increasing freshman admission standards nearly every year during that period.
