| School mission | With an enrollment of nearly 9,000 students, UW-La Crosse offers 85 undergraduate degree programs in 30 disciplines, and 21 graduate degree programs and emphases in eight areas of study. In 2008, UW-L will award diplomas to 38 graduates in its Doctorate in Physical Therapy program, the university's first doctoral program. UW-L is divided into three colleges: Business Administration; Science and Health; and Liberal Studies. In recent years, UW-L has quietly positioned itself as one of the best public universities in the country. U.S. News & World Report has ranked UW-La Crosse in the Top 5 among Midwest regional public universities in the last nine years and #39 among public colleges nationwide in the most recent rankings by Kiplinger's financial magazine. The American Association of State Colleges and Universities recognized UW-L with 11 other universities nationally for successfully graduating students, the only Wisconsin university or college to receive that distinction. |
