Mission
School mission Marquette University has been educating people of faith to be leaders in their professional lives, in their communities, and in society for more than 125 years. Today, Marquette serves more than 11,000 students and offers nationally recognized programs for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. The university's Catholic, Jesuit tradition is reflected in the outstanding academic opportunities offered through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Communication, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Nursing and Professional Studies, as well as the School of Dentistry and the Law School. Students from more than 80 countries and all 50 states seek an education that challenges their abilities and encourages a deepening of faith. Located in Milwaukee, Wis., Marquette students connect with the city through transformational service learning programs and outstanding internships. Marquette's Les Aspin Center in Washington, D.C., offers coursework for the students in the center's classrooms and coordinates internships for them on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies. During their time at Marquette, students can also study anywhere in the world, with programs on six continents. Through more than 250 student organizations, students find opportunities to pursue academic and professional interests, become involved in service activities, play club and recreational sports, participate in musical and theatre groups, join a fraternity or sorority, develop a special interest, expand their faith and provide leadership for student government. As a member of the BIG EAST conference, Marquette fields 14 varsity sports teams. With a mission that fosters excellence, faith, leadership and service, Marquette students are challenged to use what they learn to make the world a better place -- to BE THE DIFFERENCE.
