Mission
School mission The University of Tulsa is a private, mid-size, selective university with a 10-to-1 students to faculty ratio. Personalized challenges, student achievement and leadership in computer security programs (where TU produces a disproportionate number of doctorates) are TU hallmarks. TU students are rigorously tested through programs including the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge, which engages qualified students in mentored research, concentrated study and service learning. TU students routinely win prestigious honors. Since 1995, they received 41 Goldwater Scholarships, 27 National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowships, 8 Truman Scholarships, 5 Udall Scholarships, 4 British Marshall Scholarships, and other significant awards.
