If you plan to attend graduate school (health science programs, medical school, law school, engineering programs), The College of Idaho has a very positive track record for strong acceptance and placement rates (75%) at some of the most highly reputable programs in the country. The College of Idaho offers small classes (13:1 student to faculty ratio), excellent faculty (over 90% with their terminal degrees), internships, an academic calendar which allows for and encourages international travel, and opportunities to participate in community-based classes and projects. Work with Habitat for Humanity or travel to Mexico, for a week, to build houses. With more than 60 clubs and organizations on campus, there are many ways to get involved while attending The College of Idaho. The College's 50-acre campus includes walking trails, athletic fields, academic buildings, art gallery, auditorium, full size gymnasium, swimming pool, weight and aerobics room, and an outdoor amphitheater. The College of Idaho is located in "The Treasure Valley". The Treasure Valley is a geographic area rich in wilderness, scenic beauty and a mild climate year around. Students and classroom experiences take advantage of an environment with outdoor opportunities that are largely unparalleled anywhere else in the country such as skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, mountain climbing, white water rafting, kayaking, exploring the desert, or playing golf and tennis outdoors. Our location is twenty five minutes from downtown Boise, Idaho (a metropolitan community of over 500,000 people), and is easily accessible by air or automobile. Boise is half way between Salt Lake City, Utah, and Portland, Oregon, by interstate, and is located just 25 minutes from the Boise Airport which has many direct flights to cities such as Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The College of Idaho students are part of a 100-year-old legacy of producing Idaho's finest graduates who visibly contribute to improving our local, national and international communities - they are students who are inquisitive, outgoing, and energetic people with strong leadership aptitudes who have the strong desire to be successful in whatever careers they chose to pursue.
