| Mission | |
| School mission | The University of New Haven (UNH) is the university for students seeking quality education in liberal arts or for professionally oriented careers. We combine hands-on learning and a focused curriculum with a solid foundation in liberal arts and sciences. We bring practice into the classroom and the classroom into the workplace. We are committed to small classes and to tailoring coursework to everyday life in the selected field of study. Internships, special events, service learning and an experiential learning series enhance the UNH experience. Our most popular programs are: Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Music and Sound Recording, Music Industry, Management of Sports Industries, Engineering, Fire Science, Dental Hygiene, and the Biological Sciences. In addition to academics, UNH recognizes the importance of providing a well-rounded college experience. With an exceptionally safe campus, UNH provides over 60 on-campus student organizations. UNH sponsors many university-wide activities too, including concerts with bands such as Lifehouse, Kat Deluna, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, all three of whom performed on campus within one year. The university also offers shuttles to go shopping, to the beach, and to downtown New Haven, as well as trips and activities to NYC, Boston, and tubing down the Farmington River, and more. |
