William Peace University is a four-year private university located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The University has made bold strides to meet the challenges of higher education in the 21st century, and it offers innovative academic programs rooted in the liberal arts tradition to prepare students for careers in the organizations of tomorrow. William Peace University students develop an appreciation for lifelong learning, pursue meaningful careers, and build skills for ethical citizenship.

Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in biology, communication, education, English, liberal studies, political science, pre-law, psychology, simulation and game design, and theatre. In addition, Bachelor of Science degrees are offered in biology and business administration. William Peace University also offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre, and several minors and concentrations in fields such as anthropology, criminal justice, global studies, graphic design, religion, Spanish and Sports Management.

A new core curriculum includes courses in personal financial management, media literacy, and four years of writing courses within the English department. Students are also required to take a series of three classes focusing on career and professional development and an academic internship related to their major.

Academic and dormitory facilities are networked with wireless Internet service. Computer laboratories, the library, and the student publications area are equipped with state-of-the-art computer hardware and software. Other specialized computer laboratories are available in the biology, chemistry, media, theatre, and visual communication departments. The recital hall and theater host a multitude of performances, plays, exhibits, and speaker series.

WPU hosts athletic teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. There are more than 30 student-led clubs, organizations, and publications, and students complete thousands of hours of community service every year.

WPU is located in downtown Raleigh. If you don't feel like walking, a step away is a stop for the R-Line, a free bus service in the downtown area that connects students to restaurants as well as retail and entertainment venues. The State Capitol, Legislative Building, State Library, North Carolina Symphony and several museums lie within a few blocks of the campus.

Raleigh is consistently ranked in the top for its green space and cultural performance, as well as being a top technology town and the hottest job market for young adults. On average, 90 percent of William Peace University graduates find jobs or are enrolled in graduate school within a year of graduation.
