School mission: The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is a premier regional comprehensive university that takes pride in its regional leadership, national presence and global vision. Many of its academic programs are among the best in the country. For more than a decade the accounting program has been No. 1 in the nation in the percent of undergraduate students achieving first-time pass rates on the Uniform CPA exam. The Princeton Review has named the College of Business and Economics one of the "Best Business Schools." The Online MBA program is the largest accredited program in Wisconsin and is considered one of the top 25 best buys for distance learning MBA degrees by GetEducated.com. The College of Education provides the most new teachers to the state of Wisconsin. UW-Whitewater's athletic department has some of the biggest and best facilities in NCAA Division III and is home to some of the most competitive teams and athletes. The Warhawks have won national championships in volleyball, baseball and football. UW-Whitewater also provides exceptional support for students. New Mobility magazine ranks UW-Whitewater one of the top 10 disability friendly public universities in the U.S., and students have won multiple national wheelchair basketball titles. Leadership is also a priority for UW-Whitewater students. Recently, more than 5,000 students generated nearly 25,000 hours of service to 152 community agencies. These same students also raised more than $60,000 for food pantries, literacy programs, animal shelters and victims of Hurricane Katrina. The campus American Marketing Association remains the most decorated chapter in the nation for its work on marketing case studies and competitions. The AMA chapter is just one of the more than 160 student organizations available to students. UW-Whitewater has a national reputation for undergraduate research. The university consistently sends one of the largest groups of students to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. In 2008, 64 student researchers traveled to NCUR, one of the largest number of participants in the nation. UW-Whitewater also recognizes the importance of international education. The university offers many different short-term and semester-long travel study opportunities across the globe.
