|
Western International University (West) is a private university with some distinctive characteristics: a global perspective in our curriculum and classrooms; a synchronous online experience that values student-to-faculty and student-to-student live interaction; and a globally focused, practitioner faculty who bring rich, real-world experiences to the classroom. Understanding that our students are confronted daily with many pressures related to school, work, and families, we believe that we have proven that higher education can be delivered in flexible and convenient ways to accommodate busy schedules. Our commitment is to provide learning options that make West a distinctive choice. Students can move easily from on-ground to online offerings (through our unique West Interactive Online classroom) and back again, depending on their preferences or their schedules. Our 8-week classes provide part-time students the ability to focus on one subject at a time, or they can schedule overlapping courses so they do not have multiple final exams or projects due simultaneously. Above all, we are a student-focused institution, dedicated to improving lives globally. We have a diverse, multi-cultural student population. Many of our students have come to West from abroad - more than 40 different countries are represented in our thriving student body. They recognize that, throughout the world, an accredited American degree is a valuable commodity. At West, we also offer services to support these students while they improve their English language skills and become acclimated to our environment and culture. All of our students will experience a curriculum focused on the world community and gain a real understanding of the commercial, political and cultural issues shaping the future. Students obtain a practical understanding of the global economy and benefit from the diverse cultural perspectives of fellow classmates and faculty from all over the world. |
