Big Picture
I myself am not a party girl. I don't like to drink or go to bars or smoke pot. It wastes time and clouds very good judgment. The best thing I like about WVU is that it's big enough to get away from that scene. The library is great to studying but good luck getting a computer because there aren't enough for all the students in the building. I do love the Evansdale campus more than the downtown campus. It seems less chaotic and more surreal. There are more trees and greenery around. It's calm and quiet. Downtown is noisy and traffic is always bad. One reason why I'm an Animal Nutrition major. I go to the Evansdale campus more often. Overall WVU is a great place to go to school. You can meet the best of friends and the classes are awesome.
Academic Life
My favorite class has to be the Service Dog Training class. I mean who doesn't want to spend an entire class period with a Golden Retriever. The best part of it is is that we actually place these dogs with clients who have mobility problems. It's so awesome. Classes at WVU can be really big, but most of the teachers are fantastic. I've learned a lot from each of my classes no matter what the subject. I've yet to have a boring class. I would definitely say that most of the education at WVU is geared towards getting jobs. Most of the professors I have had relate all the material to real life. It's a great experience. As far as the students go, it's probably 50/50. Half of the students study very hard to work and get great grades, the other half party and drink a lot. They don't really care about getting assignments in on time. So it's about half and half.
Student Body
Even though most of everyone gets along at WVU, there are still "clicks" and groups. I don't think we mean for it to be this way, it just happens.
