Big Picture
The best thing about Washington State is the sense of community that surrounds the area. People are so friendly and really make you feel at home here. People truly do care, professors too. The school is fairly large and I'd like to see it decrease in size a little. People's reactions are all different, however I don't care much, it doesn't make me any less proud to be a coug! I spend most of my time at my sorority house but have many homes including the library, the cub when it was open as well as my departments building. WSU is the definition of a college town. I love our administration, especially our President who constantly puts himself in the college community. I've met him a handful of times and he treats everyone like they're an old friend. Our sense of community and small town atmosphere create a huge amount of school spirit and I feel our school truly prides itself in character and integrity.
Academic Life
I love my professors and know most of them personally. I love my classes and often talk with others about the courses I have taken as well as the content. I am very competitive in my classes and leave empowered from those within my major every single day. Professors encourage you to make a difference. My major is fairly new but I absolutely love and enjoy the department and people within it. They set you up for a future career and are dedicated to helping me with all I need. They're more than administrators, they're mentors.
