Big Picture
USF is okay. I'm not happy about the rising costs to stay on campus, and the tuition increases (but hey, all Florida schools are going through that). The administration here are a little too closed off, and seem like they have their own agenda instead of doing more for the students, and not just for the school's namesake. School pride has waned a little, but there might be a jump-start by the summer or next year. Frankly, I think a lot of students don't too much care or worry about what's really going on. I'm ready to keep to my pace and get out of school.
Academic Life
There are some very bright and engaging professors at USF; you just gotta know where to find them, and which classes to take. I think classes out here are just like classes elsewhere- some great, some okay, some you can live without. USF need's to do better at preparing students for careers, instead of just letting students go through the motions of getting a degree and no advice or guidance for getting further ahead.
Student Body
One major plus for the university is its diversity. There are plenty of groups represented on campus, and numerous student clubs and organizations tailored for anybody who needs to find their niche. I think most students tend to wear name-brand stuff. I don't think the mass of the student body is political minded- there is great apathy there. And they don't talk about how much they'll earn one day. I don't think the mass of students are forward-thinking.
