At the University of Pikeville, our students' success is at the heart of everything we do. We have a strong commitment to academic excellence and a long tradition of providing opportunities for higher education with a broad liberal arts and sciences foundation in the Appalachian region. The 122-year heritage of the University of Pikeville is a proud one, of which I am honored to be a part. We are a Christian institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and pride ourselves in our commitment to character education. We are a small campus and proud of it. You are not just a number here. The close personal attention that is so much a part of the University of Pikeville experience combines with academic strength to give our graduates a distinct advantage. Attending a small university does not equate to wanting less out of a college education, it means being more of an individual and less of a mosaic. Our students have more opportunities to develop leadership and networking skills, to be involved in teambuilding and social activities and to develop closer relationships with faculty and fellow students.
