Big Picture
I really like size of UNCG. It's a big campus, but not too big. Also, it's really pretty and the landscaping is nice to look at while you're walking to class. People usually seem pretty impressed when I tell them I go here. I don't do any extra curricular activites on campus, although you can tell the ones who do have a lot of fun. I work a lot, therefore, I don't have the time. There are many things to get involved with though, not only sports, but several clubs and such. UNCG students have a lot of school pride. Also, we wear uncg apparel a lot. There are all kinds of different people at UNCG. There are different races, religions, and differerent "stereotypical" groups. This means you are always going to meet new people and be engaged with different types you may not be used to. UNCG is a really great place to go to school.
Academic Life
All of my professors have been very helpful, no matter the academic level of the class. I have had classes from 20 people to 200 people and you still get the same amount of learning. It's really easy to participate because you don't get judged and it's easy to really be yourself, considering the different types of people in each class. Each professor is more than willing to have one on one time with you and answer emails extremely promptly. As a psychology major, I often put learning material with everyday life. Even early in my major, I am able to match people with their social learnings.
Student Body
There are literally all different types of people. You don't feel out of place no matter who you are. There are also different clubs to be involved in whether you want to be around others like you or get to know new types of people. UNCG students are from all over. That's probably why they all seem so different, even finanially. Some may be on scholarship, while others paying out of state tuition and you would never know one's status. You can really be yourself here. In high school, you may have felt you had to dress a different way, but here it doesn't matter, b/c more than likely you wont see a lot of people again and the ones who you will wont judge you. UNCG is a very comforting campus.
