Big Picture
i think that UNL is the perfect size of school for nebraska. Some kids come from a small town and adjusting to a larger one may be difficult. It's not too big but not too small. There are a wide variety of things that you can get involved with if you choose. I think that anyone would say that there needs to be more available parking. with the university growing somethings need to change in order to accomodate the changes. For me with the major i chose i don't have as much free time as I would like and i don't get to venture to many different parts of the campus as often as i would like but when i do i love it. i don't think i would have picked a different place to attend undergraduate school.
Academic Life
I can say for the lower level classes that are a gen. ed. are so big that no one knows your name. with most of the classes that i have to take the classes are smaller and the professors will learn your name. they are willing to help you if you ask and are usually pretty understanding. I love my major and everything about it. my academic advisor is awesome and very helpful when it comes to selecting classes. other students are helpful in determining what classes to take and which ones not to take. i think at any college that someone goes to that there will always be classes that seem to be "a waste of time" i know I've had my fair share.
Student Body
I think that UNL is a very diverse campus, you could see anyone here, rich or poor. people tend to wear whatever they feel like wearing, most wear what is "in style" but you aren't expected to wear it. i have found that pretty much anyone will talk to anyone, of coarse some more than others.
The Best Things
the environment
The Worst Things
financial aid people not knowing what they are talking about
