Big Picture

The u of a has a beautiful campus. It is pretty much the focus of tucson. The school has many programs in the top ten percent nationwide and is dedicated to research and academic excellence. I spend most of my time studying in my dorm, my sorority house, or at the library. A large percentage of students spend leisure time on university, on the mall, or at the student rec center. The administration and student government on campus is a group of focused individuals always striving to improve the u of a and its programs, implenting recycling throught campus and the dorms, building onto the rec center, and remodeling classrooms to equip them with the top technology. Arizona is also abundant with school pride and spirit. the theme song "bear down" is played over an intercom throughout campus everyday at noon and sports rallies and events are always a highlight.

Academic Life

Professors and assitants of the university of arizona are dedicated to reaching every student. language courses, english, and math are usually taken in smaller classes of 20-50 students and you have class a minimum of three days a week. In larger lecture type classes most professors have a discussion group and enforce smaller group projects and presentations. Every teacher, administrator, and student involved in leadership is required to have scheduled weekly office hours. Tutoring centers from math, science, and workshop writing centers for english are also available by appointment and for free to students.

Student Body

No student would feel out of place at the u of a. Typically most students wear shorts and brezy tops. sunglasses and sunscreen are a staple. Students of every major are supportive and are good about establishing connections and networking.
