UMUC is one of 11 degree-granting institutions in the University System of Maryland. For over 50 years, UMUC has fulfilled its principle mission: to serve adult part-time students through high-quality educational opportunities. UMUC offers a complete range of educational services both in the traditional classroom and through distance delivery formats. Classroom sites can be found throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and northern Virginia, and at hundreds of military bases overseas. Students can also 'attend classes' at a distance via UMUC's online platform, WebTYCHO. Last year, UMUC offered more than 800 distinct courses on line.
