Traditional student events include the Trojan Film Festival, during which students write, direct, cast, and act in short films that are entered into a competition judged by the Student Activities Council. Students can also participate in organizations such as the Astronomy Club or lacrosse club team. Students are required to live on campus in one of the residence halls, all of which are equipped with laundry services and kitchen facilities. Ministry and service are also integral to life on and off campus, and many students choose to volunteer with local ministries or assist the campus pastor through the Chapel Services program. The Taylor University Trojans field a number of varsity athletic teams.

Academics at Taylor are organized into three different schools: the School of Natural and Applied Sciences, School of Liberal Arts, and School of Professional and Graduate Studies. Within the schools are nearly 25 different departments encompassing a range of academic subjects such as education, music, history, biblical studies, and earth and environmental sciences. The Ockenga Honors Guild is for students interested in intellectual engagement and community, and members have access to the Honors Lodge on Taylor’s campus. Taylor’s Rice Bell Tower, with its twin spires, is meant to symbolize the integration of faith and learning.

Taylor has outstanding programs in computer science and engineering, biology and pre-med, business, and media communication. Students take advantage of cutting edge scientific research, state of the art technology, and successful competition teams in programming, math, business and ethics. Taylor's commitment to the arts is reflected in its excellent music groups, theatre performances, and art exhibits. Students examine a broad range of ideas through an interdisciplinary curriculum and the lens of a Christian worldview. Taylor's academic programs lead to top notch internships, excellent job placement and entrance to nationally ranked graduate schools. As part of its goal of global engagement, Taylor hosts several international centres, prepares its graduates to play important roles on the global stage and is nationally ranked for its student participation in study abroad programs. In January 2012 alone, students traveled to more than 20 countries, in study and Lighthouse missions programs. Taylor gives more than lip service to "whole person" education, with its benchmark-setting student development programs, collegiate and intramural athletics, integration of faith and popular culture events and leadership development initiatives. Taylor students are passionate about serving God and others, and Taylor's intentional Christian community fosters deep relationships and an atmosphere for spiritual growth. Ministry outreach, Bible studies and accountability groups are important parts of community life at Taylor. Taylor produces exceptional graduates marked by a passion to minister the redemptive love of Jesus Christ to a world in need. Alumni transformed by their Taylor experience give back to their alma mater with enthusiasm, giving at unusually high rates, investing in current Taylor students, and expressing extremely high satisfaction with their Taylor education. Taylor is also committed to growth, with the addition of a new Aquatics Wing and 100-bed student apartment complex completed in 2011. As the 137,000 sq ft Greg and Mary Fran Euler Science Learning Center is completed summer 2012, we anticipate construction on a 22,000 sq ft student center complex beginning soon.
