Mission  
School mission: SUNY Upstate Medical University consists of four colleges-Medicine, Health Professions, Nursing and Graduate Studies; a 350-bed hospital and trauma center; and hundreds of specialty medical clinics. Annual enrollment is approximately 1,200. The colleges of Health Professions and Nursing are upper-division transfer colleges, accepting students with a minimum of two years of completed college course work. The colleges of Medicine and Graduate Studies are graduate schools, accepting students with four-year degrees. Upstate is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) education system.
