Southwestern College offers a hilly, wooded, 127-year-old campus that is on the cutting edge in technology. Each student at Southwestern receives a laptop computer that connects to our wireless internet anywhere on the Hill. A recent survey showed SC students far more satisfied with their interactions with faculty than most students in similar schools across the nation. This helps our students finish their undergraduate degrees quickly; nearly always a degree can be earned in four years. Our graduate programs combine online and on-ground classes for students seeking master's degrees in music, business, or leadership, and our doctor of education degree is a combination of distance learning and intensive residency. Our service learning teams, Leadership Southwestern, Discipleship Southwestern, and the Green Team, each have been nationally recognized for excellence. The Green Team (SC's newest service learning opportunity), appeals to students of all academic disciplines who take an interest in sustainable energy. Each of these service learning programs offers substantial scholarship opportunities, as do the performing arts, communications, athletics, and other activities. Students of all faiths find SC a safe harbor to explore their beliefs and grow spiritually. Adult learners with some college education can complete their degrees (undergraduate or graduate) through Southwestern College Professional Studies. About 85 percent of these degree completion learners choose online courses, with classes on-ground in five locations in Kansas and Oklahoma. |
