Mission  
School mission: This four-year residential, liberal arts college of 1,354 students in Sherman, Texas, is one of the International 50, the top colleges in the nation for international focus. Almost 70 percent of the 2006 graduates studied abroad for a term or more. Faculty led courses in 17 countries during January term 2007 with nearly 300 travelers. Students also enjoy cultural and language "immersion" experiences in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish in the residential Jordan Family Language House. Austin College and its Posey Leadership Institute presented the second Austin College Leadership Award and $100,000 prize to global humanitarian and physician Dr. Paul Farmer in 2007.
