Big Picture
unfortunately we are a commuter school. Students are generally juggling school, work and families, so the typical college town feel is not there. Once I tell people I go to SFSU, its usually accompanied by ohh so and so goes there. Everyone knows someone or other which attends our school. The hard part is catching them while they are on campus. I am usually on campus just for the duration of classes, marketing meetings and any group meetings. Otherwise I choose to do all my studying off campus.
Academic Life
Students at SFSU ate very competitive. When it comes to the graduating seniors and juniors on the verge of graduation the competition gets stiff. There are an abundancy of resources on campus in regards to career counseling and professional development. When you join academic organizations they will generally have there own resources in terms of recruiters and so forth.
Student Body
It has been brought to my attention that the business department houses students whom dress in the same manner. We are usually in black, grey, brown or navy blue. Colors which are considered to be business acceptable tones. You are very likely to see individuals in your classes with business suits on occasion. But as you venture into the the Humanities or Fine Arts building you will notice a very different trend occurring. All colors on the color wheel are present and things are much more vibrant.
