Sacred Heart Major Seminary is an institution of higher education that primarily prepares candidates for the Roman Catholic Priesthood and, further, prepares individuals for the diaconate, lay ministry and other leadership roles. Sacred Heart Major Seminary seeks to provide an excellent undergraduate formation based on an emphasis in Philosophy and ministry that will serve as a sound foundation to pursue theological studies. The graduate Theology programs seek to ensure a clearly Catholic professional and academic formation for ministerial service. Sacred Heart Major Seminary aspires to be of national stature and the premier seminary in the region, on account of the excellence of the theological and philosophical education it offers and the formation of zealous exemplary priests, permanent deacons and their lay co-workers -- all according to the mind of the Church and one in heart with the Holy Father and his brother bishops for the sake of the New Evangelization in the Third Christian Millennium.
