Most Campus Commuters
Sharing a shoebox-sized dorm room with a relative stranger is not part of the college experience for all students. At a few of the universities on this list, commuting is the only option, as some urban schools and several rural schools don't offer on-campus housing. Students at many of the other schools listed below may opt to live at home and avoid costly room and board fees or share off-campus housing for a little more space and independence. These colleges reported the highest percentage of their students who were commuters for the 2011-2012 academic year.
