Mission
School mission: Warner Pacific College is an accredited, Christian liberal arts college preparing "change agents" in a community characterized by integrity, transformation, mutual responsibility and personal excellence. Located in Portland, Oregon, Warner Pacific serves approximately 800 students through degrees ranging from Associates to Masters levels, in 22 majors to both traditionally aged students and working adults. The college is devoted to instilling in students a devotion to the practical liberal arts, enabling them to combine their faith and scholarship to the betterment of their communities. In order to provide access to higher education for a greater number of students, Warner Pacific recently restructured its tuition and financial aid for traditional students, reducing tuition by 23% for the 2008/9 academic year. Through the College's core humanities curriculum, students explore the human condition and discover how faith and scholarship lead to lives of service. In addition, Warner Pacific offers a Degree Completion Program for working adults, provides licensure for public K-12 instruction, and holds several memberships and authorizations including the Council of Independent Colleges, the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission of the State of Oregon and the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The College was awarded a $250,000 grant from the Collins Foundation to launch a comprehensive Urban Studies Program and academic major. In addition to the Urban Studies Major the college also launched a Peace Studies Minor. Both programs reflect the mission and strength of the College. In August of this year the College opened a newly renovated 5.5 million dollar 25,000 sq. ft. campus center that includes new music faculty offices, music practice and rehearsal rooms, coffee bar and lounge, dining hall and new kitchen facility, community conference room, bookstore, post office and copy center and redesigned office space for admissions, financial aid, and registrar offices bringing all these student services to one central location on campus.
