Big Picture
Pitzer is just the right size, but I think in a couple of years it will be too big, because they are still building new dorms on campus. Claremont is a pretty crappy little town in my opinion, but if you want to venture further, there are fun things to do in Pomona or even downtown LA. Pitzer administration is awesome: everything is decided by the professors themselves, who have first-hand relationships with the students.
Academic Life
classes are small, and professors know your name. Participation in class is always important, and what we learn in class is often talked about later outside of class. Students are not very competitive, and everyone is just there to learn. Pitzer's academic requirements are pretty lax, so you can focus on whatever you want to. If you dont like doing a lot of work, Pitzer is the place for you, but you can also challenge yourself as much as you want, if your that kind of person.
Student Body
The pitzer student body is very diverse, and everyone is very friendly and open-minded with each other. The only person who would feel out of place at Pitzer would be an ultra-conservative, wealthy elite who hates having fun. In general, Pitzer students are from fairly well-off families, but there are many exceptions, and no one feels excluded because of socio-economic background. Pitzer students are predominately left, and many are politically active. Ive never heard a Pitzer student talk about how much they'll earn one day.
