Mission  
School mission: Oswego offers a learner-centered college experience at an exceptional educational value. Over $250 million in construction has been recently completed on the spacious campus on the shore of Lake Ontario that provides new living-learning communities, high-tech classrooms, and recreational facilities. Over $300 million has been allocated for new capital projects, including renovation and new construction for the science and education complexes and a new residential village. Oswego is noted for its Honors Program, internships and international study. The college offers more than 100 academic options ranging from accounting to zoology, including unusual programs such as Human-Computer Interaction, Meteorology, and Cognitive Science. Students receive over $2.7 million in merit scholarships and over $70 million in need-based financial aid annually. Under the Oswego Guarantee, room and board costs do not increase during a student's four years on campus. SUNY Oswego is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of College and Schools, and all academic programs have been approved and registered by the New York State Education Department. The School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The School of Business is accredited by AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The art department earned accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The chemistry department is accredited by the American Chemical Society in both the chemistry and biochemistry majors. The music department is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The school psychology program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists.
