| School mission: | Oklahoma Christian University, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is recognized for its rigorous academics and friendly, personal atmosphere. Oklahoma Christian offers undergraduate degree programs in three colleges: Arts and Sciences, Professional Studies and Biblical Studies, and also offers master's degree programs in ministry, business administration, and engineering. Oklahoma Christian is affiliated with Churches of Christ. Many of Oklahoma Christian's academic departments have achieved national distinction. For the last 13 straight years, Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society has named OC's chapter the top in the nation among schools with fewer than 3,000 students. OC's student literary journal, Soundings, was named #1 in the nation in 2008 and first runner up in 2009. OC's Marketing students won first place in a national marketing competition in 2006. Students in Communications have won national awards and a recent graduate had already earned both an Emmy and an Edward R. Murrow award. Students in Engineering, Art & Design, Biology, Psychology, Music and other departments regularly win both state and regional honors. |
