Notre Dame of Maryland University (changed from College of Notre Dame of Maryland as of July 1, 2011) educates women leaders to transform the world. Established in 1897, Notre Dame is grounded in a deep sense of history, distinctino and relevance. Notre Dame was the first Catholic women's college in the country to award the four-year baccalaureate degree. The School of Pharmacy, established in fall 2009, was the first Pharmacy program in the country offered at a women's college/university. The undergraduate Women's College remains the core of the institution with distinctive Ph.D., master and bachelor programs for women and men extending the reach of the College.
