The campus of North Georgia College and State University is nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest, so there’s no shortage of outdoor opportunities for students to pursue, such as hiking, hunting, and camping. The town of Dahlonega was the first site of the gold rush in 1828, and today it’s home to restaurants and shops that are within walking distance of the North Georgia campus.
