| School mission: | A small, private, residential, co-educational Christian college with a diverse student population, Newberry College offers baccalaureate degrees in twenty majors, twenty-seven minors, and twenty-five areas of concentration. Founded in 1856, the College is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the National Association of Schools of Music. Core courses emphasize liberal arts, sciences, and technology. Most degrees are awarded in business administration, social sciences, education, physical education, and communications.
