Small class sizes allow for personal attention from faculty who integrate their Christian faith into the curriculum. Funds are provided for independent undergraduate research. A culture of volunteer service is encouraged through an all-campus Serve Day and serve trips during school breaks. Students enjoy the proximity of Portland, the Pacific Ocean, and other attractions of the Pacific Northwest. Many also participate in university-sponsored international experiences. The campus offers wireless Internet access, and each incoming full-time undergraduate receives a computer to keep upon graduating.
