Founded in 1872, Maryville University is a private coeducational institution that serves approximately 3,800 students and offers 50 undergraduate programs,ten master's degree programs in arts and sciences, education, business administration and the health professions; and four doctoral degree programs in higher educational leadership, educational leadership, nursing practice, and physical therapy. This includes 2 new online programs, Master of Science Nursing and Doctor of Nurse Practice. Maryville University prepares its students for successful and meaningful careers by offering programs that integrate the liberal arts with professional studies. For every specialized program that Maryville offers, the program holds the highest possible accreditation. The first university in the St. Louis area to offer weekend classes for working adults in 1981, Maryville continues its commitment to adult students by offering 18 different undergraduate and graduate programs. Classes are offered at Maryville's main campus in West St. Louis County as well as at its satellite campuses in Sunset Hills and Lake St. Louis, Missouri. Maryville has a thriving on-campus residential student population with a new dormitory that opened at the start of the 2010 fall semester. To supplement students' academic experience, Maryville offers more than 50 student organizations that provide a variety of involvement opportunities. The University has reclassified to NCAA Division II athletics and joined the Great Lakes Valley Conference,offering 16 men's and women's varsity sports. |
