|School mission and unique qualities (as provided by the school):|
Our programs provide hands-on experiences in both the classroom and the workplace, with students alternating between study terms and full-time work terms; where they are paid professionals at organizations related to their major. Kettering is the only cooperative and experiential learning program of its kind where students begin working as early as the freshman year, allowing the unprecedented opportunity to graduate as productive, creative professionals with up to 2 years of experience and potential co-op earnings of up to $65,000.
And since college is about more than just academics, Kettering offers rich student life opportunities. Our campus is currently home to more than 50 student clubs and organizations in areas as varied as Anime, hockey, green engineering, SAE, Pre-Med Club and more. Currently, nearly two-thirds of Kettering's students are members of one of our 13 fraternities or five sororities. Kettering is also home to a large, state-of-the-art recreation center and offers numerous volunteer and civic engagement opportunities.
Kettering's alumni, who are leading thinkers and innovators in many global industries, maintain close contact with the University after graduation - frequently returning to campus and interacting with students to share their professional expertise. This accessibility gives current Kettering students a fantastic resource that is unprecedented in comparison to many other universities.
