Big Picture

The best thing about Harvard is the different types of people here. Like everyone has a different view on everything and everyone is passionate about something and willing to learn about other things. It seems like everyone is here to get something out of college. I think Harvard is just the right size and I love the sense of community that groups and clubs create. People usually try not to freak out when I tell I go to Harvard and it becomes awkward. Sometimes they do freak out and it still becomes awkward. It's just...always awkward. I love the fact that there are other schools around so that you can assert your superiority. Haha, just kidding. But it's great to have other schools cuz you can mix it up and go to their parties and take them to your parties.

Academic Life

Being a freshman, I find that intro classes suck, especially Life Sci. Generally, other classes are good and professors are willing to be available. I find the students study at the last minute a lot because they are used to doing that in high school. Intellectual conversations tend to happen more outside of the class than inside of the class because many students have diverse interests that are not completely covered by the classes that they take. I find that there are a lot of people at Harvard who just want a job, but there are also more people here than at other schools who want to learn for its own sake. I've actually asked my friends at other schools about this and I feel as though I have more intellectual conversations here that they do at their schools.

Student Body

I feel like generally, there is a place for everyone because this is a pretty diverse place. There is always a place for someone to fit in. The diversity can also cause conflict because not only is everyone diverse, but everyone also has strong opinions. Overall, though, most people are willing to learn about and immerse themselves in things that others like and everyone is pretty open-minded.

The Best Things

The fact that everyone is open minded and they actually understand what you are saying.

The Worst Things

The way it makes you feel less than average because everyone around here is amazing
