Franklin College is a private school located on a scenic campus just 20 minutes south of Indianapolis. Students at Franklin can pick from more than 30 majors and get extra help at the library’s Academic Resource Center, which offers peer tutoring and assistance with math, writing, and technology. In the quaint town of Franklin, students can take a break from studying and walk to the roller rink, movie theater, and bowling alley. Students can also make a short drive to Indianapolis, which offers bigger attractions, such as museums, parks, clubs, a zoo, and professional sports.

On campus, Franklin hosts more than 60 student organizations, including Greek life and Habitat for Humanity. For students who want to stay active and have fun, there are intramural opportunities in basketball, bowling, volleyball, and flag football. More serious athletes can play on the Grizzlies varsity sports teams, which compete in the NCAA Division III Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Notable Franklin students include Robert Wise, who won Academy Awards for directing The Sound of Music and West Side Story. He first attended Franklin as a journalism major, but had to drop out when the Great Depression hit.
