| Mission | |
| School mission: | Kettering University (formerly GMI Engineering & Management Institute) is built on a tradition of cooperative education and preparation of future leaders for a global society through exemplary programs in engineering, science and business. Founded in 1919, students participate in professional cooperative education throughout their undergraduate career, alternating academic terms of full-time study with full-time terms of paid co-op work experiences. Co-op jobs typically begin in the first year. Kettering students currently co-op with employers in 43 states and several countries. New and enhanced programs include Biomedical and Pre-Med, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Business. Most students are able to co-op with an employer near their home. Kettering students get a jump-start on professional networking through their co-op jobs while many others choose to attend the nation's top graduate schools. |
