Best thing is class sizes and faculty. I'd either move emory a little closer into atlanta, or let freshman have cars on campus. I think the size of the school is just right. I spend most of my time either in my room or the fraternity house. There is no school pride most likely because there is no football team.
2/4 of my Professors know my name this semester. My favorite class is my english class which is about New York City post 9/11. My least favorite class is my freshman seminar because it is really boring. Students study probably 4 or 5 days a week. Class participation is very important in all my classes. I have been part of multiple intellectual conversations out of class. Students are pretty competitive especially students who are in the B-school or pre-med. I don't spend anytime with professors out of class. I think Emory has too many requirements, i agree with a liberal arts education but i feel there are just way too many required classes. I think in the college the education is geared towards learning.
I have had encounters with all of groups on campus. I feel almost all students are very nice and accepting. I really cant imagine any student feeling completely out of place. Clothing ranges from sweat pants and a sweatshirt to brand name clothing. 4 tables would be 1) Asians 2) athletes 3) rich white girls 4) rich white boys. Students come from all over the country, primarily the east cost from Boston to Miami. Most students are well off. Some students are politically active not all though.
