Concordia College is a recognized leader in global education. Exploring today's most important issues from a wide range of world, political, religious and cultural views adds depth to our more than 75 majors and 12 preprofessional programs. The purpose is to develop well-rounded, globally sensitive and highly competent graduates who are ready to lead and serve anywhere. All students study a global language and many study abroad, pursue international internships and volunteer in their communities. A recipient of the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization (by NAFSA), the college ranks sixth in the nation, among all baccalaureate institutions, for number of students participating in short-term study abroad experiences. Concordia's stellar academic reputation also includes program distinction in the sciences, especially premed and other health professions. One-on-one lab and field research with faculty mentors contribute significantly to an 88 percent medical school acceptance rate for Concordia graduates. Concordia ranks in the top 15 percent nationally among bachelor's colleges for the number of graduates going on to earn doctorates. Within six months of graduation, 96 percent of recently surveyed new Concordia graduates reported being employed or were attending graduate school. The new Offutt School of Business is a four-year undergraduate program featuring a dynamic blend of liberal arts learning and globally immersive business education. Concordia's world-class music program features 19 performance ensembles. Concordia Christmas concerts are broadcast nationwide on radio and television stations. Varsity athletic programs in 22 men's and women's sports have produced an NCAA Woman of the Year finalist and seven NCAA Postgraduate Scholars in recent years. A college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Concordia offers a variety of worship experiences and religious activities on campus including chapel services Monday through Thursday, Wednesday evening communion, a student-led worship and praise service and special occasion Sunday morning worship services. Campus ministries include one of the country's largest Habitat for Humanity chapters, Justice Journeys and student groups such as Christian Outreach, Campus Bible Studies, Mathetai and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Emphasizing "hands-on" experience and ethical leadership shaped by rigorous examination of faith and values across the curriculum, Concordia prepares graduates dedicated to leading change for the world's greater good. |
