Big Picture

CSU is a very large school with a lot of great people that go to it. I believe some of the classes at this school are definitely too big, but that is the case for most large universities. I think we have a lot of opportunities here though, and our money seems to be spent pretty well. The biggest controversy ever was the **** Bush in our collegian. I don't think it was neccesary to do that, but I was never embarassed to be going to the same school as that. There is a decent amount of school pride, but if I was to change one thing it would be our athletics be better. A large school like this needs to have better athletics, believe it or not that is pretty important to incoming students. I almost did not come here because they weren't the best, but at the time I applied it was a lot better than now. I think it would really increase our school pride.

Academic Life

Professors usually don't know my name, because most of my classes are too large. My favorite class by far is health and the mind taught by Mark Benn. I believe that class is the best class I've had in my schooling career. I have never been to a class where people wanted to go, and although the way he teaches is unorthodox and probably a little controversial, I wouldn't change it for the world. If he ever left CSU this school would have a huge loss. Other then that class I have had some great teachers in other classes, but once again the large classes such as chemistry are hard to monitor and most students don't go.

Student Body

I believe that a muslim student would probably feel pretty out of place at CSU. Other than that there is a great diversity of religion at CSU. The only problem I have had with religion is the people on campus who try to get you to convert to their religion. I believe different types of students interact, but just like anywhere else people from different backgrounds usually feel more comfortable around each other. I believe there need to be more minorites, because CSU is defintiely almost all white, and in terms of race there is very little diversity. Most people at CSU come from pretty well off families, although there are plenty of exceptions, and most college students no matter how much money their parents have are usually in a little financial trouble.
