| School mission: | About CTU - Since 1965, more than 38,000 students have enrolled at Colorado Technical University to begin the rewarding climb towards personal, academic and professional career advancement. The mission of Colorado Technical University, an institution of higher learning, is to provide career-oriented education by teaching applied, real-world, industry-current programs in selected areas, serving the needs of students for employment and career advancement and the needs of industry for highly qualified professionals at the associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. CTU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (30 N. LaSalle St., Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504). Professional Learning Model - CTU students are immersed in hands-on, industry-related, problem-solving experiences that model professional environments and help prepare them for careers in the real world. Advisory Boards - CTU maintains current and relevant programs through active participation with the business community. This interaction, conducted through our advisory boards and faculty selection, enables Colorado Technical University to identify and implement timely curriculum and equipment changes in selected programs. Faculty - CTU selects faculty with demonstrated industry experience, advanced degrees and teaching qualifications to deliver state-of-the-practice education. CTU provides ongoing professional development, review and certification, especially in fostering student success through teaching and support. Delivery options - At CTU, we recognize that our students - many of whom are working professionals - have busy lives with many competing responsibilities. That's why we have developed several options that allow students to earn their degrees when it is most convenient for them. Our DegreeNow option allows students to select from a combination of night, online and weekend schedules. Those who wish to pursue a degree entirely online can choose Colorado Technical University Online. Programs - Colorado Technical University offers over ninety degree programs within the Colleges of Business and Management, Engineering and Computer Science, Information Science and Technology, Health Sciences, and Criminal Justice and Public Administration. Technology - CTU provides a high-tech environment both on and off campus. Our online course delivery system provides a rich, dynamic, interactive experience. Courses are fully-web based allowing multiple opportunities to interact with instructors and classmates. Community Involvement - CTU's partnerships within the cultural and business communities continue providing meaningful contributions to community-based organizations both locally and nationally. In 2008, the Council of College and Military Educators awarded its prestigious Institution Award to CTU in recognition of its significant contributions to the cause of military education. In 2007, CTU placed among the top 10 institutions named by Military Advanced Educations Top 30 Colleges.
