An independent four-year Catholic liberal arts college founded in 1899 by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, the College of Saint Elizabeth was one of the first colleges in New Jersey to award degrees to women. Today, the College has a unique and critical role in higher education not only as one of the pre-eminent Catholic colleges for women on the East Coast, but also as a leader in the education of working adults - both women and men - at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and as the regional Center for Theological and Spiritual Development of Catholic laity. |
