Mission
School mission: Presbyterian College is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. We strive for excellence both in the classroom as an institution of inquiry and dialogue in our undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences and on the playing field as a new NCAA Division I school and member of the Big South Conference. The new Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy will open in the fall of 2010, and PC is honored to open a Confucius Institute in the fall of 2009, the only undergraduate liberal arts college in the country awarded one from the Chinese government. Ample opportunities exist for study abroad, internships, and faculty/student research. PC was named a Distinguished member of the national President's Honor Roll of Service in both 2007 and 2008. A student body that engages service projects in the city of Clinton and Upstate South Carolina lives the College's motto, "Dum Vivimus Servimus" or "While we live, we serve," eventually becoming an alumni body that serves in communities throughout the world. Six Presbyterian College professors have been named South Carolina CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) professors of the year, twice as many as any other institution in SC. Presbyterian College students and faculty note that relationships set PC apart from other institutions, as faculty engage students both in and out of the classroom. As a liberal arts college that embraces honor, academic rigor, and community relationships, we are also a church-related liberal arts college, whose philosophy of excellence in reason and excellence in faith allows us to examine and celebrate our Christian faith in the context of the global community.
