Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science has been setting the standard in mortuary science education since 1882, making it the nation's oldest school of its kind. Constantly striving to improve the quality of education, CCMS offers a diverse education in all aspects of funeral service as well as provide real world experience in our state of the art clinical embalming laboratory under the supervision of licensed faculty members.
A CCMS education promises a challenging and comprehensive study of all aspects of the funeral industry. The curriculum offers experience in arrangements counseling, merchandising, and funeral directing through the use of the laboratory and role-play. Students are exposed to real life situations in a controlled environment. Students also gain further experience in local funeral homes through work/study and co-op programs.
CMS is recognized by the Ohio Board of Regents as an Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) and is authorized to offer instruction leading to the Bachelor of Mortuary Science and Associate of Applied Science Degrees. CCMS programs are accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education, Inc. (ABFSE), and the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
