| School mission: | Eastern Washington University, a regionally-based comprehensive university, is located in Cheney, WA, within the Spokane metropolitan area. EWU excels in the preparation and advanced training of professional practitioners in careers of service to others in the public and private sectors. It offers access to a diverse population of students who are educated in a broad range of fields such as education, culture and the arts, social work, health sciences, as well business and engineering. The graduate program in Creative Writing and doctorate in Physical Therapy are considered among the top programs nationally. Forensic science majors have the unique chance to learn from a state crime lab located on campus. Eastern is also the only public comprehensive in the state to offer an electrical engineering degree.
