Big Picture
The best thing about central is that it is large enough to feel like a college but small enough not to be over whelming. They teachers here care. The food in the dorms is amazing. There is so many opportunities to be involved. The football games are so much fun even if we loose. I spend a great deal of time around campus during the day because I live off campus. I love how I can go pretty much anywhere on campus and be comfortable. I love spending time in the library, labs around campus, or random study rooms. They are great places to study and don't usually have very many distractions. I'd like to change tuition rate. I think that central should offer more scholarships. I wish there were more job opportunities.
Academic Life
As far as the professors go they have lots of students and for them to remeber you just because you are in their class is not very likely. I find that if a student makes even the slightest effort to go to office hours the teachers are very good at recognizing you later and saying hi. They may not remeber your name at first, but a relationship takes two sides. If the student puts in the effort the teachers will make sure that it reflects positivly on ones grades. Some fields are more competative than other and I seem to find it imperative to see my professors for help. I think the biology department staff and program is awesome: I just wish that the chemestry section was as well organized and fun as the biology. Everything I do helps me prepare for the real world.
Student Body
I don't think that religion, race, status financially, or other aformentioned "groups" should be a major issue for people in their decision to come to central. These are minute factors that if a person wants to be adaptable would learn to be comfortable in any situation. Preparing for a job means being comfortable in many different levels that aren't necessarily controllable so I will not discuss these beyond the fact that if they are a factor they do exist on CMU's campus.
