Big Picture
What I love about MTSU is that it is so huge, yet I do not feel like "just another number" when I walk around campus. I feel like I know everyone on this campus, which I know is not true, but at least that's how I feel. I have a lot of school pride and I get offended when people think that MTSU is dirt compared to UT. There is not a lot of stuff to "do" around Murfreesboro as far as "going out" goes, but Nashville is not far away and Murfreesboro is continually growing.
Academic Life
I can honestly say that I have never had a bad professor in my time here at MTSU. I have always learned so much and I have always enjoyed my classes and done well in them. I love taking Honors classes because they are very small and usually strictly discussion-oriented. The most unique classes I've taken have been toward my Theatre minor. I have taken Make-Up class and Storytelling. Amazingly, I learned so much in both! The recording industry program also offers some very interesting classes that are unique to MTSU.
Student Body
I cannot think of any student that would not fit in at MTSU. There are not protests all the time-everyone seems pretty laid back. Most are from Tennessee, but people come from all over for the Recording Industry and Aerospace programs. There are a lot of students hoping to be "discovered" in the Nashville scene, but not in an obnoxious way. We are just full of talented kids.
The Best Things
I don't feel like just a number. I feel like I matter and I can make a difference.
The Worst Things
We don't have the national recognition that other universities have.
