Located two hours south of Pittsburgh, PA, West Virginia Wesleyan offers 43 majors of study, and six graduate programs in athletic training, business administration, education, and nursing, and 18 NCAA Division II sports. Personal attention and small classes allow for a challenging, yet supportive environment, the hallmark of a Wesleyan education. With a student faculty ratio of 13:1, Wesleyan students frequently interact with faculty in lively classroom discussions, exciting research projects, or sidewalk conversations. The College also features a distinctive Honors Program; three-four international study courses each May Term, and a Learning Center that provides a wide range of support services including those for students with diagnosed learning disabilities. Wesleyan, which has won 15 of the last 17 best overall athletic program titles in a 16-member conference, also offers an outdoor recreation program, intramurals, and more than 70 campus organizations including fraternities and sororities, religious life, student government, and honoraries. The College's ten performing arts groups are regionally renowned and tour throughout the region. Over 80 percent of Wesleyan students actively participate in a wide variety of community engagement projects. The beautiful campus is situated on 110 park-like acres and features Georgian red-brick architecture. It is located within two hours of many West Virginia parks, ski resorts, and whitewater rafting. The College recently opened of the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts and will soon open the David. E. Reemsnyder Research Center. In addition, Fleming Residence Hall, one of eight dorms on the campus, will open in the fall with newly renovated suite-style ultra modern living arrangements. The combination of an outstanding academic program and rich co-curricular opportunities is why 90 percent of Wesleyan students report being satisfied with their college experience and why Wesleyan consistently ranks among the top schools in the state in retention and graduation rates.
