Big Picture

the best thing about babson is the job openings afterwards.... the main thing i'd change is it's harsh grading system...better schools (like the ivy leagues) don't grade on NEARLY a hard scale as babson does....so why penalize the kids for working hard...just grade normally and have none of this babson curve crap i'd also change the way the college is run...the people at babson are way too cheap...air conditioning should be available in dorms all year long...rather than only being in for a few weeks...i think the babson administration is using the current students to get the most (money) out of them....and i think babson college is run like a cell phone company...screwing over its current users to attract and market to new ones the school is fairly sized in my opinion...i just wish there were more girls...and most people have never heard of babson...so i just say i'm going to a business school near boston....besides...most people don't care even if they knew what babson was i don't think there's a lot of school pride because most people i know dislike the school...sure...i like the people at babson...and i have a fair amount of friends...but i don't like the school itself...it's way too stressful and "in your face" when it can afford to use a little less structure...if you've ever seen the movie "boiler room"...you can see how stressful babson college is run.... i'll always remember my friends and my team/club experiences....they helped me survive this school so far...i would have transferred long ago if it weren't for them many complaints are harsh and over protective police officers not enough girls uptight professors too harsh grading system too cheap administration no air conditioning too much "busy work"...meaning work that's useless to the class...like a lot of reading i actually made a babson t-shirt that says front: this is why i'm hot back: because this school's to cheap to pay for air conditioning modeled after the school's shirts that say "this is why i'm hot" "top 10 hottest business schools"

Academic Life

professors do know my name...although i talk a lot in class...professors do make the effort to get to know the students on a personal basis...and the classroom sizes are overall small enough to be effective my favorite class has been business law...with one of my favorite professors..it was a hard class but i was very interested in the subject and the professor was very fair....but not too generous very few students have intellectual conversations outside of class...very few students talk about politics...most of the girls talk about clothes...fashion...partying...whereas the guys talk about sports....and girls....but few people talk about politics and philosophy...most of them are the nerds on campus...and most of them are in my social circle...haha students here are very competitive...after all it's a race to get as much money as possible...people are screwing each other over in a heart beat to get as much money as they can...this is one of the more competitive and back stabbing places i've ever seen i've gotten to know a few professors outside of class...most of them at the beginning of the semester...and for office hours...it helps a fair amount and it distinguishes yourself so the professor remembers you easier...it definitely helps i think the school's academic requirements are fine...it's just the grading is horrible...and the education is more towards getting a job...the liberal arts at this school is WEAK....really weak...babson is more about getting a job in the business school...students who want to study liberal arts should go to a liberal arts school...or study abroad....this is not a school for them seriously though...my high school liberal arts classes were more challenging and educational than the ones taught at babson...if you want to save money just cut those classes...and pay for god damn air conditioning in the dorms

Student Body

there is a lot of diversity on campus...which is a good thing...the only students that would feel out of place at babson are democrats (like myself)...liberal arts people...and those who have a working conscience and won't screw someone else over for money (like myself)... many different students interact...although fraternities/sororities are formed of nearly identical people....plus clubs like christian fellowship...italian club...black student union...bapsa etc are alligning people of similar backgrounds to be honest a lot of international kids keep to themselves...but that's because we americans (especially the spoiled rich ones at babson) might not be too welcoming... i guess the 4 tables would be 1. frats/sororities 2. sports teams 3. groups of friends/roomates 4. kids sitting by themselves most babson students are from rich environments...some poorer kids receive scholarship money...but most kids are well off....and let you know it...most of babsons students are holier than thou republicans....so far right that it's wrong...most of them don't even know politics and have no position talking/debating politics (i've given up arguing with the republicans at babson) and yes...students talk about how much they think they'll earn in the future...
