Big Picture
ASU is way too big. Classes are always over crowded and sometimes people have to sit in the aisles. I have had a couple of professors who don't even seem like they want to be teaching at all. They seem like their just there for the money and don't really care about the students. It's horrible how there are no greek houses. I was going to rush but I decided not to because our greek system is not what it's supposed to be at all. I had a couple friends who wanted to go to ASU but since their parents were so involved in the greek system them wouldn't let them because it's not traditional. Manzanita is GROSS! The dorms are way too strict. Were college students aren't we supposed to be expressing ourselves and letting ourselves go? We can't when everyone is always watching us everywhere. I don't really have any amazing memories from my first two years at ASU. It's more like "what college town?" Everything around campus is so old and sometimes I am afraid to sit in my seat in class.
Academic Life
Professors never know my name, and I do ask a lot of questions, they just don't ask. My favorite class was an english class with Mr. Rathkamp my freshman year. He was my favorite teacher because he seemed like he really wanted us to do well and really helped. My other classes are kind of just whatever classes. All we do is go sit and they talk and then we leave and classes always get out really early. I don't generally study outside of class and i have never talked to anyone about any class topics or anything. At ASU I really have no clue what I am even using my major for and where it is going to take me. There is no organization or communication between advisors and students like I hear there is at other schools. I feel like I am just learning to get a degree but that there will be nothing left for me from ASU once I get a degree because they don't discuss possible job opportunites or careers with us after graduation.
Student Body
I think everyone is pretty good about not being racist and everything but and group of students is always going to have their cliques. A lot of girls wear pretty much nothing to class, and we have to look and their rolls hanging out its gross. There are a lot of rich kids at ASU that are not taking their education seriously and its really annoying. I wish they would pay for a kid to go to school who actually wants to learn. No one really talks about their lives after ASU.
